about the zoo

urban zoo studios is the brainchild of Anthony Proctor, a Charlotte-based Multimedia Designer (the Urban Zoo name is inspired by the number of furry critters residing in his home). Anthony's been in the corporate presentation business for a little over 10 years, and he's seen it from all sides. From initial concept design to production to final presentation, Anthony knows how audiences respond. That's what makes the difference in having your message merely received and having it received and remembered.

Anthony began his career in the corporate presentation business about 10 years ago in the Audio/Visual side of things, and became quite proficient in the art of meeting support. This entailed planning, setting up, and operating of large screen projection systems and full-blown audio rigs for presentations both large and small.

In all his time sitting behind the scenes making sure those meetings went off without a hitch, Anthony saw a lot of presentations. Some were good, others were quite entertaining, but most fell a little flat. In the summer of 1998, Anthony took over the Multimedia Department at Corporate Media Services. Pulling on his experience as a long-time viewer of corporate presentations, Anthony vowed to strive for excellence in presentation development. If a presentation doesn't engage the audience, they're likely to forget most of what they're told. Anthony takes that into consideration every time he begins a new project.

At any rate, the website for urban zoo studios intially began as a project site during Anthony's quest to become a Certified Internet Professional at Queen's College. Now that his training is complete, the site remains as an online portfolio of his work.
